Hello, fellow Newgrounders,I haven't made any news post since last year, mostly because I was busy with studies and other stuff,I may post some game walkthrough this summer (if I find enough free time).
During this year,I have learned quite a lot in computer programming, first,I learned Lua,I really like it because it's fast, lightweight, powerful, and works embledded in computer programs, the manual/users wiki/pil book documentations are very clear, and the language mechanisms are awesome (like metatables/metamethods).
here are 2 of my experiments in Lua:
to_r function (transforms a floating point number to a ration, doesn't work for numbers like 1/3)
Quadratic function solver (accepts functions like 4x^2+3x-1,x^2-x-1)
After Lua,I learned a little in Tcl,then jumped to Ruby, which is also a very elegant language,I like its object-oriented nature,I have read many books on the language and I can write simple code, but I don't know every method of every class in the standard library.
[EDIT] Ruby is awesome, and I am getting better with it (reading some books, and doing experiments).
